2007 Jones Family Vineyards Estate Cabernet

"The 2007 Jones Family Vineyards Estate Cabernet is proof that everything you hear about the amazing 2007 vintage is true. The dark-fruited character of the Estate Cabernet in 2007 is complemented by a maple syrup, caramelized brown sugar goodness that we feel is representative of the vineyard’s southern Calistoga hillside location. The wine possesses plenty of framing acidity to balance its richness. The addition of a touch of juice from our older blocks adds depth and structure. The 2007 Estate drinks better young than our last several vintages but will certainly benefit from cellaring."

-Thomas Rivers Brown, Winemaker, July 2010

Robert Parker agrees:

"A gorgeous offering, the 2007 Jones Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Estate comes from a hillside vineyard located between St. Helena and Calistoga. Its dense blue/purple color is accompanied by complex aromatics of white flowers, creme de cassis, blueberry pie, charcoal, and a hint of subtle oak. With full-bodied power, stunning purity, concentration, and texture, an undeniable minerality, and a 45-second finish filled with fruit and tannin, this may be the finest wine yet produced by Jones Family Vineyards. It should evolve for 20-25 years." 94+ points
