2006 Esate Cabernet earns 96 points

One of the top tastings in the vintage and definitely a remarkable Jones!  This opaque ruby-purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon boasts a huge fragrance of candied-mulberry/cherry, blueberry, sweet flower, and licorice infused with stony wet-earth. Undeniably full-bodied, opulent, potent, and vigorous, with much in the way of powerful flavor and complexity, as well as broad tannin. It is a gorgeously pure wine to consume and savor, but patience will be necessary since this beauty will need a decade of shedding to be appropriately mature. It will be a fascinating wine to cellar.  96 points
