It’s been a busy few weeks at Jones Family Vineyards.  We had our first blending session of the 2008 vintage wines.  First we tasted each vineyard block independently, and for being only a few hundred feet away from each other there is remarkable variation in fruit, tannin and finish. Next Thomas poured 4 different blends from those blocks that could make up our Estate Cabernet.  Some tweaks to try before our next session in May, but based on this early sneak peak, the 2008 is going to be a stellar wine.  There just isn't enough of it.  We will likely make just 300 cases of Estate Cabernet, and 400 cases of The Sisters.
